This picture book tells the story of a mejiro (white-eye bird) that I first kept after getting married, having never owned a bird before.
He accompanied us on our travels, happily drinking watermelon juice he had obtained during our trip, and singing cheerfully and boldly.

This is a picture book that celebrates the preciousness of fleeting and fragile lives.
